Why Meliodas
Meliodas is a name that refers to a fantasy world, inspired by our passion for ancient legends and Japanese culture.
The idea is inspired by Alchemy, an ancient philosophical science which, combining various disciplines such as chemistry, physics and medicine, tried to transform metals of little value into Gold.
This metaphor with Alchemy is perfect to summarize the work of the Beekeeper, who, with his knowledge, manages to find Gold in liquid form: Honey!

We strongly believe that the world we live in rests on a subtle balance and bees play a fundamental role in maintaining it; for this reason, we feel that our task is to protect them: we use our resources to promote their well-being, preserving their habitat and working in synergy with it.
We decided to take this difficult path because we believe we can change our way of living, working and interacting with environment, our intention is renewing the relationship of respect and trust that we once had with Nature!
The Earth offers us its fruits as soon as it can and allows us to savor its goodness and its authenticity...Honey is part of these gifts because it expresses its genuineness, enclosing the very essence of the plants from which it comes from! Tasting it we can sense, even for just a moment, a feeling of attachment to our environment and to the life that populates it...
Origins
Our story begins a long time ago, from the first memories of happy moments spent in the middle of Italian meadows and woods and, without knowing it, experience after experience was built over the time, starting as a fairy tale and turning into a beautiful story in which, however, we are only halfway...
Those who grow up loving the tranquility of natural life are unlikely to find peace in the modern world, which has become too frantic and chaotic! And this is how the founder Marco Civico decides to change his life and return to the places he belongs to, finding in Nature a welcoming refuge from which to draw inspiration and start a new path...a path that leads to an incredible world: Beekeeping!
After years of study and practice, finally in 2019, Marco opens Meliodas Apicoltura in Modena, Italy, with the intention of giving life to a new concept of beekeeping, aware and respectful, extensive and not intensive, which does not exploit bees but help them, thus practicing an Ethical Beekeeping!
